Mental Health Court

Court-connected mental health expertise, treatment coordination, and ongoing support.

Mental Health Court serves people whose involvement with the criminal justice system is directly linked to untreated or under-treated mental illness. Traditional court processes are not designed to respond to clinical needs and often contribute to repeated justice involvement.

LLGAMH plays a central role in Mental Health Court by providing court-connected clinical expertise, assessment, treatment coordination, and ongoing support, in close collaboration with the judiciary, legal counsel, and court partners. By integrating judicial oversight with community-based treatment, the program helps stabilize symptoms, reduce re-offending, and support recovery while improving public safety—ensuring that court decisions are informed by mental health expertise and that participants are connected to appropriate care rather than cycling through custody and crisis services.
